Chemical Free Cosmetics - Look After Your Skin It Is The Only One You Have - Part 2It is important that consumers be educated as to the health dangers posed by cosmetic products, both chemical free cosmetics and organic cosmetics. Companies should inform the public about safety precautions instead of luring them into buying products that don’t work and/or harmful, too. Chemicals found in cosmetics have been said to cause cancer, particularly breast cancer. The chemicals in question are called parabens, which are a group of compounds uses widely as preservatives that are anti-microbial in food, pharmaceutical products, and cosmetic products. Supposedly, parabens have been found in measurable concentrations of six different parabens in at least 20 human breast tumors. Many people have been alarmed at this number and, as a result, companies are now funding further research to study the potential link between products that use parabens, mostly deodorants, and the increased risk in breast cancer. Choosing the right products for personal care, more popularly referred to as cosmetics, can be quite a task. To arrive at a safe decision, consider your skin’s needs. There are several products that come in hypo-allergenic form and they can protect your skin from having reactions. Moreover, chemical free cosmetics are still on the shelves of most, if not all, beauty shops. For safety reasons, consult your dermatologist as to which products may work best for you.
